Our initial journey with Hepatoblastoma began with children s hospital, but with a liver tumor that was unresectable, we transitioned care to Georgetown University s transplant center with their recommendation. Dr. Yazigi and Gabrielle are an extraordinary team whom offer compassionate care. Dr. Yazigi is one of the smartest doctors I ve ever met. The surgeons And anesthesiologists are very knowledgeable and experience d, we were impressed. Our son s liver transplant surgery went without a hitch. We also have to mention our great experience with the nurses and techs during our hospital stay. It s terrifying to have your baby go through cancer and a transplant during a pandemic, but they have helped us get through it feeling comfortable and well taken care of. Gillian, Sereena, Selena, and Kara are fantastic, just to make a few. If I had to do this all over again, I would always choose Georgetown University s transplant center. The only issue I had was with dietary missing my meals but that was fixed and feels unimportant in the grand scheme of things.
