Bought a lock and helmet - first guy was super helpful re: which one to buy, etc. very smooth process.

While I was installing the lock, second sales associate asked me if I could do it 'not here.' After dropping $180 I was asked to leave to set it up elsewhere because they had 'no room' in the bike shop.

Significantly, there are two bike lifts for work behind the counter. One was free. Maybe he could have offered me one to set up the lock, which would have taken 5 minutes and not an ounce of otherwise used space.

Turned out that the lock didn't fit my bike super well, and it would have been best to loosen a water bottle holding screw with an Allen wrench that I didn't have - had I been in the shop, they could have facilitated that process easily. But I was outside, and not keen to go back in.

Had the store been super busy I would have understood, but there was literally one other customer in the shop.

What an ass.

To summarize, your chances are 50/50 of working with a total moron or very helpful salesperson. You might even get both! Good luck.
