On Monday, January 21, 2019 a friend of mine was taken by ambulance to your hospital. I arrived shortly afterward and was at his side until he died two hours later. I am writing to say that I was both greatly surprised and greatly pleased by the high level of competence, skill, professionalism, and empathy that I found in EVERY member of your staff with whom I interacted. (Nothing like the chaos, confusion and clumsiness one sees in television ERs). This made an otherwise terrible situation bearable as they comforted me during the loss of a friend, while at the same time displaying a level of professionalism that seemed to come naturally and easily for them all. To name a few, I would like to recognize, commend and thank Dr.Bukowski in the ER; Nurse Riska David on the 5th Floor; Dr. Andreas Mitchell of Internal Medicine; Dr. Meghan Jobson of Internal Medicine; and Social Worker Anna Keaney. You are lucky to have them, and I thank you for having them on duty when I was going through a difficult experience that would have been unbearable if not for each of them.
