I recently stayed at the D Las Vegas...I have been staying there for years, even when it was the old Fitzgeralds. I am very pleased with the new renovations, with that being said with the new comes a loss of the old, like integrity, accountability, and good old customer service.
First we were given keys to a room that was already occupied, and then there was no television service available, and worst no elevator the day we left. We even asked the housekeeping staff to take us down in the service elevator so we could catch our shuttle to the airport...she refused.
On the weekend the owner Derek Stevens and a local radio station 98.5 put on a free concert Theory of a Dead Man. Wonderful PR for the owner and the radio station. A great concert enjoyed by many, just not those that are physically challenged. As the owner and his associates watched the concert from a large outdoor box, there was no concession made for those who are limited to wheel chairs and walkers.
On several occasions I asked one of the radio personal if the individuals in wheel chairs could have one of the passes she was carrying around. She said, she would see what she could do...she did nothing. I even witnessed her ask another individual in the audience ("Oh I didn't know you were going to be here, how many are in your party, he said two and she gave them free passes. Another associate of the owner was also observed with a dozen or so passes hanging from his pocket, and yet none were available for the disabled individuals to enjoy the concert like everyone else.
Shame on the owner and the radio station, just another example that the Advantaged have no regard for the Disadvantaged.
The one lady in a wheel chair served over in Afganistan, for her American country...how sad.
I will definitely think twice about staying at your facility again.
I have called your customer service line, with no response to date with my concerns. Maybe now someone will take notice.
Just a suggestion, that maybe an area may be sectioned off for physically challenged individuals, an area like there was for the radio personal, that evening during the concert would work wonderfully I am sure.
Sincerely
Vicki Page
