My fiancee went down to the place to personally choose a suitable ring and
diamonds. She went down twice and choose something that she liked. She was
promised that the price would be below 2000 pounds. But when I received the
mail for payment, it was more than that. So after an exchange of emails, it
was below 2000 pounds. I was told that the ring would be ready on 10/2/2015.
They knew that I would be flying in from Singapore and landing on 10/2/2015
to collect the ring and made the rest of the payment.
When I went to Cool Diamonds on 10/2/2015, the staff there then told me that
they needed my passport to claim VAT. They knew I would be claiming VAT
before I even said a single word. When I told them I didn't know that
they needed my passport, they told me they could not do the paperwork
without my passport and that during the exchange of email, I should be have
been told of this. So I had to return back the following day as I was too
tired to return and I may not been able to make it on time.

The following day, I brought my fiancee to collect the ring. She had taken
the day off to be with me. When we arrived at the shop, my fiancee inspected
the ring and found that the diamonds were not what was promised. After
clarification, we were then told that we were given better diamonds instead.
But when we checked, we found that it was not true. They had no intentions
of informing us of the change until we my fiancee discovered the error. If
you had chosen to give something better than agreed, I am sure you would
inform your customer of this. But in this case, they never had the intention
of informing us of the change. And they claimed that they made an error
on the cut of the replaced diamonds.

After that, they told us to return in an hour time to collect the ring with
the correct diamonds mounted on it. Yet we went back nearly 2 hours to
collect the ring. They didn't call at all. By that time, we realized
what the whole thing was about. We requested that we should be given a discount
considering all the trouble we went through. Instead, we were accused of
blackmailing them. We refuse to tolerate such practices by such a company and urge all future customers to be prudent.
