We got to the hotel basically unpacked everything ...

We got to the hotel basically unpacked everything and went to turn on the t.v. the remote had a covering over it stated that it was "lysol" clean. I took off thr cover and there was squished food on the remote. This told me a few things. #1 that they don't actually have the rooms "lysol" clean and #2 that during a pandemic they are skimping on cleaning. I was absolutely furious. I took the remote down and the manager came and spoke to me. At first all she said was "wow that's disgusting " and we will get to the bottom of this tomorrow. Gave me a new remote and expected everything to be okay at the point. I then asked her "So if the remote is dirty but says its clean how can you guarantee me our room is clean?" She said we'll I can't. So then she offered me another room, she offered to go wipe everything down before we went in it. (Mind you I also have a very tired one year old) we then switched rooms. Everything in that room was fine. Woke up was leaving and the same Manger just stared at me the entire time I was in the lobby. I honestly don't think she would have done anything if I didn't push for it. It's very sad considering we are Hilton members and she had no interest on doing anything besides give me a clean remote. Any other time sure it would have been fine, but during a pandemic it's just shameful how little they pay attention to cleaning the rooms. This is the first time I have ever wrote a bad review but my suggestion is to find a different hotel that cleans better than this one.
