I have been a frequent visitor of MGM for years and this is the first time I've left disappointed on multiple facets. The rooms are showing their age. We didn't have running water for 4 hours. The little placards that tell housekeeping to not disturb you go missing daily and you find this out every morning when housekeeping wakes you up. I will never understand why the default is to be disturbed when you are on vacation. I am happy to press the housekeeping button on my phone when my room is in need of service. The bell desk provided good service, but every other aspect of service was sadly lacking. For example I wanted to break a bill for tipping and asked 3 cashiers who were visiting with each other in the gift shop if they could help me out. I was told to go use a machine, which also meant waiting in line. I had late checkout, but my room key was deactivated before my late checkout was up so I had to wait in line for 20 minutes to get my card activated. The pool complex is impressive, but you are constantly reminded that this is a family resort as all of the pools and the lazy river are over run with children, so set your pool expectations accordingly.
