Doctors and nurses are very knowledgeable and cutting edge with the newest treatments. I have had extremely professional experience with staff, although I had an unfortunate experience during a long (7 week, 2 surgery) stay. A very judgmental nurse, without a doctor s order, decided she didn t like me leaving twice a day for a 15 minute smoke break, so she retaliated by removing a 20 cm. tube delivering pain medicine directly to my heart, after having my entire deltoid muscle aggressively removed days before, leaving me in anguishing pain. I required the need of a pain specialist who put me on the right track again and was able to control my pain in an acceptable manner. He was very knowledgeable and compassionate. I strongly urge anyone who is experiencing acute and severe pain that is not properly maintained to request the services of a pain specialist. That is my only complaint. A quite severe one but nonetheless the actions of one rouge individual who also lied about having pulled the tube. I awoke from a nap with the entire 20 cm tube laying neatly on my chest. She was the only one that was in charge of me that day. She suggested that in my sleep I so violently rolled around that I had managed to do this myself. A necessary lie as I mentioned to cover her act as she did this nefariously without a doctor s order and with her consistent complaints of me smoking twice a day. She told me that a person with my level of pain should not be able to tolerate leaving my bed for 15 minutes to get outside and especially for smoking.
