Paid for A/c Diagnostic service call. Griffin diagnosed as "bad compressor", said it was "dead", would not run, and we needed a new A/C. 30 minutes later they had a salesman out quoting us $4700 new units. Had another A/C repair company (Wilson Heating Air) come out 2 days later, they put a "start kit" and "run capacitor" in it and it worked perfectly fine 15 minutes later. Giving Griffin the benefit of the doubt that this was just an honest mistake I contacted Griffin, sent them the diagnosis from Wilson and requested a refund of their incorrect "diagnostic" service call charge. As of today it still has not been refunded. This looks like fraud to me by incorrectly diagnosing "bad / dead compressor" complete with a service call charge and then attempting to sell us a new AC we did not need. If this was an honest mistake, they would have refunded the service call charge for the diagnosis that was clearly incorrect after being notified of this situation and receiving the copy of the Wilson repair call.
