Over two hours of a very painful waiting line out ...

Over two hours of a very painful waiting line out in the snow were horrible and not worth the visit in the palace. There was no warm place to relax and get dried after hours of standing outside, except the restaurant and a coffee shop which were over loaded and also very expensive. This is not a good time to visit- the gardens are not tempting at this weather and are under renovations. The indoor palace is beautiful and impressive of course, but the experience is completely ruined by the coldness (in order to proceed between parts of the palace you must go outside); the massive amounts of groups and individual tourists packing every part of the exhibition make the tour very claustrophobic; the audio guide didn't work on all the numbers under 200; and where it didn't work we couldn't use the written explanations that were only in French. Overall this wasn't even worth the long train ride from Paris, not too mention the ticket price. Maybe in season.
