I wanted to love this place. It has a quirky old atmosphere and a big list of beers. However, I'm afraid the beer was bad. I did a full sampler and struggled to get most of them down (and I love real ale!). Perhaps the casks weren't fresh at the end of the year or the lines hadn't been cleaned recently. Even the mulled cider was sour and not very tasty. It seemed touristy, with a guest book from visitors around the world. Also, I usually expect breweries to be immaculately clean, but this was sorely in need of cleaning and some care.
