Don't even bother buying the "extra ski protection" when you rent from them, you are just giving them your money. I fell going down the mountain and the ski pole broke. I am a beginner and was using the equipment as correctly as I could. When I took the rentals back I was told the protection only covered damage to the skis, but anything broken wouldn't be covered. So I'm guessing maybe of you scratch the wax and they have to re-wax them. I was handled a paper that you would get if you bought everything that day. I did everything online and had never seen that paper. I bought everything online and went back and found nothing about the extra ski protection. It simply said equipment is rented without warranty unless extra protection is specified in the agreement. This agreement had nothing about the additional protection purchase, but it was charged at check-out. They ended up with $16 to replace a new ski pole. I would suggest something stronger than aluminum so they can hold up to a fall down the mountain for any level of skier. I also rented a helmet online, but they were so few left, I had to make due rather than actually have a helmet that fit.
