I visited The Bridal Company on Saturday with a friend, having seen two dresses online and knowing they were my style and within my budget. Upon arriving the lady we met was lovely, suggesting we take a look around the store to see if any other dresses stood out before I could try dresses on.
After a short wait the lady who was going to help me try dresses on came over, immediately assuming my friend was the bride, to which my friend pointed to me saying no she s the bride. I was then put into a dressing room with two dresses I d found whilst browsing. I tried them on but wasn t sure and I asked the lady if I could try the dresses I d actually come in to look at. She came back with one which I tried on and felt okay in. I again mentioned if I could try the other one on and she seemed confused. She then went and looked for the other dress, coming back to tell me they d sold it that morning and that it was had quite a short under skirt on it, I m assuming as I m a bit curvier this may be why it was mentioned?
I was quite disappointed with the experience, I felt very self conscious and kept being offered styles that weren t what I d suggested were my styles. I didn t like one particular dress that was suggested and the lady suggested she d try it on next to me. Just a weird experience.
