I was contacted on Indeed by this company. After looking over what they sent about the job itself, I was intrigued and accepted it. I got a phone call around 5:00 EST that I had missed and I couldn t understand the voicemail that was left. So I called the number back and it said it was a TextNow phone number. So I sent a text message to the number asking nicely who it was and how they had gotten my number. They messaged me back saying it was for a job offer. This was a huge red flag for me as no business should be conducting phone calls through a texting app. They called me back but their accent was so thick that I was unable to understand anything that was said. The recruiter was getting an attitude because I had to keep asking him to repeat himself slowly because he was speaking so quickly and with the strong Indian accent, I couldn t understand. The recruiter never once said what the job was or what my duties would be. I was never explained anything about whether it was remote or not. Just that I would be working for Proctor and Gamble . They asked for the last four digits of my Social Security number. When I hesitated, I was told I could use any 4 numbers that I wanted. I thought that was a little concerning. I was given an agreement that looked like someone with basic Word skills had typed it up. It stated I would be contracted under them for a total of 6 months for $21 an hour. They demanded my resume, when it is on Indeed, where they found me, and should have been able to download a copy of it from there. Whenever I wouldn t respond quick enough to their emails, they would call and text me repeatedly. This was highly off-putting and borderline harassment. I had to explain gaps in my resume, which is normal for any employer. However, I had to explain why I was looking for work period and if I would be able to be at their beck and call whenever they snapped their fingers (not literally, but their tone pretty much said that). While this company may be legit (I haven t found any proof to state otherwise) their business ethics are very poor. I probably will not accept their offer after the treatment I received by this company and it s representatives.
**EDITED TO ADD**
A different representative from their company called me personally to address any concerns or questions that I had about the job and the company. While that was appreciated, when they requested I remove my review because it reflects negatively on their company , I became upset. I find it absolutely unethical to ask anyone to lie or omit any honest opinions about a place of business. If you are more concerned about keeping up appearances online than running the actual business itself, what does that say for your business? That doesn t make me want to work for you.
