A group of 6 friends arrived for afternoon tea. We were approached by a senior staff member who asked what we would like to order without having provided menus. This set the precedent for the entire meal. The men ordered burgers which there was absolutely no issues with but the afternoon tea (with the 38euro price tag) arrived with some of the desserts already melted and no plates provided. We had ordered additional wings (they were tasty but the blue cheese dip was the wateriest we have ever encountered) and chips which we had to ask again for. The plates we requested arrived dirty and we received replacements. The bread used for the sandwiches was stale.

Overall we were flabbergasted to see what the 38 Euro actually bought, as everything in the afternoon tea was well below par for such an esteemed restaurant. We brought this to the attention of reception who kindly offered a drink each to make up for the situation but who goes out of their way to visit such an establishment for a terrible experience? The senior waitress who initially dealt with our table then left it to a younger (albeit wonderful) blonde staff member to apologise for the situation. All in all if you're happy to charge the same prices as city centre top hotels, you should be providing the service that accompanies it.
