My elderly parents went in at 1 pm because my dad has cancer and his leg is swollen. The Dr said to go straight to the ER Incase of a blood clot. It is now almost 11 pm at night. My parents have been sitting there with zero answers or info this entire time. They took my dad at 5 pm to have a Doppler test that checks for any blood clots. That s it. No other info. You would think they would know by now. You are making a cancer patient who is currently undergoing chemotherapy and not feeling well sit there all day and all night. How messed up is that? I will definitely be bringing this matter to the attention of city officials and all other officials that regulate this hospital. Shame on all of you for going into the health field and not showing the compassion you were taught back in medical school or even as a human being! Update: 6/11 - they finally sent my dad home That night at 1 something in the morning! Can you believe it. Someone undergoing chemo and at the hospital over 12 hours straight, no food etc... they said he just had edema. But guess what! They just called today and told my parents that the second opinion doctor says my dad does have a blood clot in his leg!! Can you believe that. They are lucky nothing happened between then and today. Their lack of care and medical skill amazes me. I really hope that a patient advocate can take this and all other complaints to whoever is in charge of patient care at this hospital. I am definitely going to write and speak to whoever may be able to change things. This is completely uncalled for and could have been avoided if they had protocol in place and again people working there that actually cared about the patients.
