To begin, this is not my first negative experience...

To begin, this is not my first negative experience at Matty s. My first one was last fall, when I asked our server for a refill of my cup of water. She then proceeded to ask another member of my party at the table, (in a very serious way) can he just have your water? since this individual had not drank from his glass yet. I understand that at times a server can be very busy, but to ask someone at a table, if another person in their party can have your water because you don t have the courtesy / customer service to get a refill is very unprofessional.

So today I went back, to give Matty s another shot. This trip was probably worse than the last time I went. The hostess didn t even greet us, she simply pointed to a table and said you want to sit there? Okay go ahead, I ll bring menus over , and then completed some other tasks before even bringing us our menus. Our menus were some very poorly designed flip books of some sort, that were clipped to a clip board. The menus were physically hard to open and read, since the construction of them was very awkward, and literally ever item on the menu was written with a different font, font size, and formatting. Not to mention the menu options were not very diverse, and a burger with some toppings would end up being fairly expensive for the area.

Our server (after asking half of the party what they wanted to drink, and getting a response of water) decided it would be good to just get everyone water first and get our drink orders later, without asking anyone else if they had a drink in mind. I wasn t too offended by this, until she brought out the water without saying a word. She immediately turned away to help another table and then wasn t seen for minutes. We decided to leave and take our business to a restaurant that would give us better service at a lower overall cost. Won t be back anytime soon
