Communication was excellent from the beginning of the trip. We called before boarding the ferry and scheduled a cute golf cart pickup at the dock. Driving thru town our young associate answered questions about the island, gave local suggestions and managed to fit in all the amenities provided by the hotel. The drive was scenic and MV has such great old school architecture that it's hard NOT to imagine just picking up living there full time.

Pulling up to Harbor View is exactly what it sounds like. The hotel faces the harbor and a lighthouse. There's a path that leads from the front steps, across a quiet street and down a rock beaten path to the beach. Harbor View provides chairs, umbrellas and transport.

The lobby is homey, inviting and smells good.
Front desk is on point with welcomes and offers. Complimentary bikes and 3 styles of Mercedes Benzes to choose from as your own personal car for a couple of hours, first come first served, but still free. Restaurant around the corner from the concierge has a small but tasty menu. Blueberry pankcakes, avocado toast, fried chicken sandwiches, steaks and sandwiches all fresh tasting and filling.

We were situated in the new building in the behind the pool. Rooms very clean but nothing too special. I liked the energy efficient central air that shut off as soon as the balcony door was opened and resumed as soon as it was closed. Housekeeping, again on point, because they always managed to let me know when they were going to be headed into my room and if I wanted anything specific done.

After shopping near the marina one night, I took one of the bikes for a midnight bike ride, complete with a wireless speaker, across the island to Oak Bluffs with my cousin. Bit off more than we could chew BUT we did it. Found a bar still doing last calls and had a great convo into the night with some locals.

MV seems like its own world on its own island of which its inhabitants only seem to be looking for and exuding positive vibes.

There is so much to see and do that I dont have the energy to write about at this moment. But for my first time in MV, Harbor View hotel was the best start I could've made. I cant wait to go back.
