About 6 months ago, my husband and I got married at The Atrium at Brooklyn Botanic Garden. If you're considering to get married at BBG, we highly recommend that you read this review.

We had booked our wedding for October 2017 a year prior to our wedding day, specifically with Emily Piuggi from Patina Group(PG), the point person for wedding food catering/events at BBG). Like all business workers, she was initially kind upfront. As time passed, around 6 months to even weeks before the wedding, she became very minimally responsive, only responding to us for payments. My husband and I were frustrated, but remained cordial. Just days before the wedding we finally got in touch with her, and she talked as if everything was going well and that it will all go smoothly. We had a whole outline for the wedding day planned, decorations that they were going to set up (which was also preplanned & dropped off at the venue beforehand), with confirmed meals/food/drinks and the whole timing of events.

The wedding day comes. Our ceremony was started late, some of our table decorations were not set up, they served the ENTIRELY WRONG ENTREE, MY HUSBAND AND MY DINNER WAS THROWN OUT, and there was no "captain" (for which they charged a fee to have) throughout the event. I spent my entire reception distressed. Instead of spending time with my guests, I was hunting down any food waitress to speak with the "captain" or Emily who had already disappeared. We ordered swordfish as our main fish entree, and instead received salmon with a completely different order on the side of custard that I specifically said I DIDN'T like at the tasting. A number of my guests had to leave early, so I asked for the meals to be packed (as BBG does not allow refunds for guests) THREE times throughout the reception and no one came back to follow up. The $500 Captain Fee was useless, as well as everything we had paid money for at this so-called grandeur wedding venue at BBG.

As the event ended and husband and I were leaving, for the last time I requested to see someone in charge. A completely new face, also by the name of Emily, had appeared. When I asked, "I've been asking for a point person all throughout my wedding, and none of you guys showed up." She responded, "Oh, you seemed busy so we didn't want to bother you. I'm sorry, but if you want you can come back here sometime for a dinner." I left that night at 1AM and ended up eating leftover pizza that my husband and his groomsmen ate the night before.

Immediately after the wedding, we contacted Emily Piuggi, and she heard of all our complaints from the PG food servers, yet pretended like she didn't know about it saying, "That was a beautiful wedding!" After expressing the issues from the wedding, she had put the blame on us stating, "You guys should have reconfirmed the meal with me again right before the wedding." We were outrageous; our food choices of what we WANT and DONT want was communicated IN PERSON and IN WRITING, confirmed, with a proof of document entailing all these details months prior to the wedding. We immediately asked for a refund, and sure enough, she said she'd get back to us, yet we never heard from her since.

I spent every minute I had (over 1 week) before flying off to our honeymoon calling, leaving messages, requesting to speak with the supervisor of PG. Finally, Emily's manager Bonnie Rozales picked up; I explained the entire history of events before and after the wedding and she INITIALLY apologized saying she will have everything taken care of by the time we return from the honeymoon. We returned only to hear from her, "Well your guests still enjoyed the salmon", insisting that they do not wish to refund us the money. After ongoing debate, a month later she informs us that she will only refund us for the salmon. Again, with no follow up I had to hunt down for the refund which took 2 whole months.

I have never written a review in my life, but this was by far the worst experience I've had. We don't ever wish for another husband/bride to go through this in the future on their special day.
