The Hyatt Regency Dallas is a well run operation with a very clear and firm commitment to customer service, particularly for their most loyal customers. This is essential to keeping such a large hotel feeling personable and intimate.
As a World of Hyatt member, I ve read a lot of reviews about this much-loved hotel and seen photos from weddings and meetings held here. I decided to spend a couple of nights here while in Dallas and check it out.
First of all, before I even arrived a WOH customer service representative (Julie) emailed me to see if there s anything she could do to make my stay more comfortable. She also asked me several questions that she committed to add to my permanent Hyatt file including things like when is your birthday? I sent her my responses, including a request to have a bathroom scale in my room because I m trying a new diet and it s very hard to stick with it when I am traveling; having access to data about my weight helps me stay on track. On the morning before my stay I received a text from Julie telling me that she had upgraded my room to a City view and she hoped I would have a great stay.
I checked in and was given a personal note from Julie with a voucher for a free gift from the market to thank me for my loyalty. How sweet!
I then went up to my room. Sure enough there was a brand new bathroom scale fresh out of the box! It had just been purchased just for me. And she had left a tape measure as well, for good measure . So thoughtful! Wow!
The city views up here are quite beautiful. The double queen room has enough space for me to do a yoga workout in the morning. There is an empty refrigerator for me to keep healthy snacks. Bottled water is available in the room for free for WOH elites.
The room itself is pretty standard Hyatt fare - which is good. The TV is huge - take a look at the pictures. I can t even begin to estimate its size. There s tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There s an iHome type clock radio. You ll have a lot of fun using the electric controls for the blinds.
What would I improve?
I wish this place had a Club Lounge. Also, it s pretty close to the train tracks, as many other reviewer s have noted and the noise travels even up above the 20th floor. So it s worth bringing some good ear plugs. I m surprised housekeeping didn t leave any beside the bed. Also, a white noise machine might help.
Overall this is a great hotel and if you are a fan of Hyatts, they will treat you well.
