My friend and next door neighbor Jake has been out of town for the past few weeks. So when my wife went inside their place and found it to be 35 degrees she was very shocked. Her dad recommended calling Shavitz and we got an appointment the same day. They were able to help us out and make it earlier because of certain previous obligations that we had.

I got a call that the tech was on his way and would be there in about half an hour. He (Jason B) came at around 2pm Friday afternoon and got to work. Apparently, the furnace had stopped heating the air because the filter was over clogged. He replaced the filter (they had plenty on hand). Then when the air was still not getting hot he opened up some paneling on the furnace and and we found the real problem. Since the filter was so clogged it had triggered essentially a failsafe that prevents fires and such (this is my laymens terms of explaining what happened). Jason was able to quickly and efficiently fix that and then we finally had hot air blowing through the place.

He then went around the house and made sure none of the pipes had frozen over (the kitchen sink had, everything else was fine). We opened up the kitchen faucet so that when the pipe was ok we'd know it. He found the main water shutoff valve (remember this is my neighbors place so I didnt know where anything was) and explained what to do just incase a pipe were to burst (it never did, thank Gd) and made sure I knew what to look for if that were to happen. Jason did an awesome job and if we ever have an issue with OUR furnace I'm going to call Shavitz
