AJ Blair Review of Doubletree by Hilton Omaha Dow...

One of the worst experiences I have ever had staying at a hotel. It was nearly impossible to find the parking when we arrived with all the parking. My husband went in to ask since there was a line of roughly 10 cars all trying to figure out where to go with no staff anywhere in site. The person he spoke to was extremely rude and said THERE ARE SIGNS! Well, I called the front desk to ask where to go and they said, down the block and around the corner and there is a sign. When we finally found it, there was a really small sign that sign First National Bank Parking and even smaller letters, and Double Tree at the bottom. Then we finally get in to check in and they have my husband pay when he already prepaid for the room a month in advance. So now he has paid twice (which he forgot) and we have to call back to get refunded (not likely). Now that we have checked in, they hand us each a cookie (LITERALLY THE ONLY GOOD PART) and we head upstairs. We walk to our room and notice the sticker that shows the room has been cleaned has a broken seal. We enter anyway. One of the first things my husband does is check to make sure the adjoining room door is locked. It isn't. So he tried locking and it wouldn't. Great! So we call down and they said they would send someone up. We get ready to head to dinner, go to the restroom and notice what appears to be makeup all over the sink??? So not cleaned?! Who wants to deal with a dirty room and a maintenance guy coming to the room??? NO ONE! Never once did they just offer to switch us to another room. Only if he couldn't get the door to lock. At that moment, with us complaining of a dirty, uncleaned room and a door that wouldn't lock, they should have just switched us. For the most part, the staff was friendly, at least the staff when we checked in. But it went downhill fast from there. After getting back from being out, we ordered Uber Eats and I run down to grab it and the door doesn't open for me to go outside. Fire hazard?! There were 2 people waiting outside because this door was locked when it shouldn't have been. The maintenance tech was again called - different guy - and he has to get a ladder, open the ceiling tile and unlock it. This place literally seems to just be falling apart. I head back upstairs with the food in hand and get back to the hotel room to realize there are no water bottles or even just CUPS to drink water or drink from the coffee machine provided in the room. Once again call down and the front lady says, oh we don't bring water bottles up for ***** phone cuts out so I don't hear but it sounded like she said "NON MEMBERS." WELL MISS, TECHNICALLY I AM A MEMBER OF HILTON AND MARRIOTT. She said I could walk downstairs and she would open the guest store? Or whatever it was called. At this point, with all the experiences we had, I was done. No I'm not walking downstairs. You can walk up 2 bottles of waters for your paying guests when this should have just been added to our room BEFORE we arrived. Seriously ridiculous.
The sad part about this all, is that this place used to be a really nice hotel but fell short of even a mediocre experience. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. And NOW, we have to deal with being double charged because they didn't show we already paid. Even though my husband has the transaction and showed them the charge. They said they weren't familiar with the CCI charge. All my husband had to do was Google it and it shows that it is for the hotel. Go to the various other hotel options downtown and save your time and energy!
