Smokers Den. Have to walk through a mist of nicotine to get into the entrance. The main foyer stinks of cigarette smoke. Staff, patients and visitors are all equally to blame for this, security dont do a proper job and move them on, some staff do go to the very edge of the entrance so they can say they were (off site) but at the same time they are all in uniform and isnt that an infection control hazard ?, im sure it is somwhere along the way, definately not aseptic practise. When complaing to reception staff about it, they pacify you with nonsense. Supposed to be a leading example setting NHS trust, i fail to see that. I understand that some patients are very unwel and all they have left in life is to smoke or have a little ciggy, but does this mean non smokers or asthma sufferers or even people with babies visiting the hospital for appointments have to suffer by breathing in the cancer ridden contaminated oxygen that the smokers choose to endure.
