Alain Salesse Review of The Box Tree Cafe

Visited with the family for Sunday lunch. The starters were fantastic but unfortunately it was downhill from there. The main course was nothing out of the ordinary - on a par with a decent pub roast - and the desserts were disappointing. The blackberry souffle looked great but lacked flavour, and was overwhelmed by the chocolate sauce that didn't work with it. I expected much more of a restaurant that has held a Michelin star for so long. Sorry but the food was just not good enough, though the service was fantastic. I have eaten better at many pubs in Yorkshire for half the price.
