IF YOU DECIDE TO STAY HERE ASK ABOUT THE CONSTUCTION AND STREET NOISE!!!!

When I entered the hotel the front desk staff was pleasant and my room was quite spacious and lovely. HOWEVER...what they neglected to mention was my room was directly across from a VERY ACTIVE CONSTUCTION SITE and FACING A BUSY NEW YORK STREET! I was jolted awake around 6am with dumping sounds and city traffic and the earplugs they supplied were no match for the noises. After notifying the staff, I recieved an apology but was also given some flimsy excuses of why I was in this room and told I could not be moved for reasons that I percieved were also my fault in some way. My silence to his responses were golden. In the end he said all he could offer was a complimentary breakfast but that is no balm for a terrible nights sleep. After all that's what nice hotels are supposed to be for, right? So if you still decide to stay here do inquire about the noise.
