On Dec. 5th I had a major life event. I was enjoying the Christmas breakfast, but when I went to stand I became dizzy, so I sat back down.
I also temporarily lost my vision. I want to thank Ashlea Blevins, RN and Andrea Shackleford, APRN for insisting on taking me to the ER. With their quick thinking I was saved from what could have been a poor outcome. Lori Trouille, APRN and Dr. Dawson soon followed us to the ER and began the stroke protocol. Dr. Griner and Dr. Staton were also present. My nurses, Mary Grace Milukas, John-Tyler Exum, Ivy McCranie and Felipe Garcia were quick to get things rolling and I appreciate them tremendously! There were many others involved, lab, EKG, CT, Xray and I don't have the employee names for these areas, but you will never know how grateful I am that you cared for me!

I was admitted to 4T for a couple of days. Gina Colson RN, Dana Vincent RN, and Danielle Yund RN provided compassionate, excellent care while I was here! The little things I asked for were so important to me and they made sure my needs were met! Ronnie from MRI was a blessing....I didn't know if I could do it, but he took extra measures and told me what to do to be able to tolerate this procedure! He is wonderful!!

Once again, there were many others from other areas that I can't name.....it's all a blur..... but I do appreciate what you did for me!

Thanks to my team in PACU for keeping things going while I was out! I know I can depend on you! And to all the others who checked on me or prayed for me, I thank you, as well!

We take for granted our health and don't realize how important having this facility available, and all SGMC has to offer, until we need it! It's a different ballgame when you're on the receiving end! I am forever grateful for all who were involved during this episode! Each and every one of you are an important part of the excellent care that is given at SGMC!
