You are allowed to enter as long as you show ID at the gate. There is an air museum towards the back of the park just next to Hangar One, the big metal grid structure. I visited when the museum was closed, but there were plenty of planes outside to view, see the vastness of Hangar One, and visit the SpaceBar for a beer.
