If you only visit one theatre in London, this is the one. It's exquisite. Some very modern renovations blend with classical theatre, the design is simply wonderful, you can absorb the atmosphere of the art that lives there from the moment you step inside. Plenty of refreshment areas - one on a rooftop overlooking Covent Garden gives a peek inside the working costume department. Inside the theatre, the acoustics are excellent, views are good and I've never seen or heard a bad production. Dress code ranges from informal to very upscale and fancy, if you want to dress up you won't feel out of place, but if you arrive in your best jeans you'll also fit right in; I recommend a minimum of smart casual.
