My husband and I were at the Hemp convention at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Center and we stayed at the Hyatt in order to reduce our ticket prices for the event. That part was a great deal. And the location is very close to the conference and the view was nice, Both looking down from our elevator stop to the lobby area below with the water fountains, bar, and restaurant as well as the view outside the window of our room. There is a very large bar in the lobby and a restaurant featuring fine Italian food as well as a miniature convenience store with exorbitant prices.
Normally my husband and I would stay at a mid range hotel. Embassy Suites Holiday Inn something like that. And with your stay you normally get a free breakfast, parking, etc. It s not amazing but it s free, it s quick, it s easy and it can be very healthy. At the Hyatt you will pay out the nose for anything and everything. You have to pay for parking which is probably a quarter of a mile or more away from the front of the hotel. You re going to pay for breakfast. There is a single serve coffee pot in your room with 4 cups for coffee cartridges and two bottles of water. The mini fridge in the room did not stay cold. There is no microwave.
My husband had something he needed to print out and it was gonna cost over $12 to print. And when you leave the Hyatt they have a check-out key drop. Ashton and I thought that was really cool. And then we leave our luggage at the front of the hotel, and I go and trek to the vehicle. And because we turned in our hotel keys, and I didn t have the code for the parking lot I had to pay $30 to get out of the parking lot! There was no attendant in the guard shack to give me an alternate option. Now you re going to pay $12-$15 a day anyways for parking. Please don t get me wrong the hotel is lovely, it s wonderful, great for a business meet up. But if you are used to holiday in express or something like that, the hotel offers very little compared to the price and what you get with a less expensive hotel. The rooms are comparable. In fact the only mirror was in the bathroom so my husband in the bathroom I m getting ready I can t check to see how old the outfit I m wearing looks until he gets out of the bathroom. We did stayAnd a double queen room and we would normally get a king, but that s all that was left to get the reduced ticket prices for the conference. So it s possible that a king room might have a mirror elsewhere. The room was clean and organized. One of the things that we found puzzling was the fact that there were no trash bag liners in the trash receptacles. That seemed strange.
We don t use valet but it s $32 for overnight usage.
