February 2019, I was north of Huntsville snowmobiling. My 2015 skidoo had a leaking RAVE gasket. I wasnt able to get to any dealer but I had friends meeting me who were driving through Barrie, who could stop and pick up the part for me BUT depending on traffic St Onge likely would have been closed.
I explained that I would like to pay for the part over the phone and if the part could be left outside somewhere kind of hidden, that would be awesome. The parts person I was speaking with was willing to help me out until it came to the payment.
I was told "you've never bought anything from us and I dont have your drivers license. For all I know you could be using a stolen credit card" . I was in complete disbelief and furious.
Due to this person's lack of customer service and respect for the short snowmobile season, my family day long weekend was cut short.
I know if it was a salesperson taking my good credit card for a deposit on a new toy, they would gladly take it over the phone.
Many years ago my dad stopped dealing with St. onge, and im glad I never started.
