I would not recommend anyone to take a loved one here. My mother went in for rehab. She received 1 week of rehab. (But they kept her the full 20 days insurance paid for) (How do I now know this? The new place asked rehab people for all their notes...they had none! Of course, this might have changed to cover their butts)

The "social worker" Sue, called my brother on July 2nd and said insurance was kicking her off so we needed to come up with a plan B as of Friday July 5th as they charge $500/day and she knew we couldn't afford that.

My mother went in to their facility able to talk, make phone calls, sign her name and able to feed herself. She can no longer do any of those things, and yet they would leave her tray in front of her and left her room. How do I know this? Because I would come at 11 and there sat her breakfast in front of her, untouched. One time my brother came after 5:00, there was a tray in front of her. He assumed it was her dinner so he started to feed her. Oops...in walks the aide with her dinner. That was her lunch. Mold on her water cup. (I took pictures of everything)

She was left alone all day long in her room with no one to talk to and was never taken to any activities or even just outside. And now that we have her in a new place, they found bed sores on her. I am very sad to think what my mother went through by putting my trust in Altenheim.

Oh, and we were never given a discharge care plan meeting either, and no one called myself or my brother on the day of her discharge to tell us she was being discharged. Please, don't take your loved one here and please don't donate to this place.
