Poor customer service and shoddy workmanship

10 years ago, my husband bought me a pair of Asprey earrings. A few weeks ago the front of one earring landed on my lap (incredibly fortunate) and i realised the bar that fixes the earring was still in my ear. Amazingly, the front of the earring had literally dropped off. We took it back to Asprey who have charged for a repair, stating we have had the 10 years and this is to be expected REALLY? I have a collection of Victorian ear rings and they are still working just fine. Really flabbergasted, I imagined they would be embarrassed by their shoddy goods , clearly not. If i realised they were going to charge I would have got my local jeweller to fix them.
