Stayed at the Sheraton Buganvilias in Puerto Valla...
Stayed at the Sheraton Buganvilias in Puerto Vallarta for 6 nights.
The Good:
We arrived on a Saturday at 1pm and check in wasn t until 3pm so we were happy that we weren t made to wait. We were upgraded from garden view to balcony which is great. Customer service was mostly great. The views were great. The pool was great.
The Resolved Issues:
Mostly frustrated with the fact that we were given access to the club level breakfast and appetizers and then we verified and were told that we would not be receiving that complimentary for the rest of our trip by the manager on site because the employee who checked us in told us wrong. She said we should have known because we should know our benefits and that was that. No resolve moving forward. This was a downgrade on our trip moving forward and we are quite unpleased because we still had 5 nights left on our stay. After reaching out on Twitter they gave us access to this again.
The Unresolved and Reported Issues:
Our food menu had orange stains on it. It should have just been swapped out with one that wasn t nasty. The fridge was grimy, we reminded them about it multiple times and no one came to clean it. Our hot water turned scalding hot without adjusting the temperature in our shower. We were told that someone should check on our shower on a certain day and time and that did not happen until we reminded them a second time. After them checking the shower they did not end up fixing it. When we walked in it had a stale smell to the bedding and there were 2 different hairs in the bed. One curly and one straight. Even with do not disturb on our door house keeping called twice while were taking naps and woke us up to see if we wanted our rooms cleaned. No one explained to us that make a green choice was 3 days in a row then take a day break and then start again. We knew that we would not receive our vouchers the first and last day, but skipping a day after 3 in a row was not explained to us. Finally, we requested late check out and came back to our room at 12:35 with 1pm check out and our card to the room stopped working so we had to go back down to concierge and spend then last bit of time we had at the hotel waiting in line at concierge instead of enjoying the view from our room.
Overall there were a few good things about the hotel. The not so good things were all avoidable and piled on to make this stay much less enjoyable than it could have been. I will be posting this entire summary in my review for or stay. There were many chances for the hotel to make things right and they did not and it leaves a sour taste in our mouth.
I reached out with all of this additional information to both the hotel staff and Sheraton on Twitter and all Sheraton said was Thank you for sharing this with us Brian. We will be sure to add this to your file. If we can be of further assistance, please do let us know.
Extremely disappointed. This easily could have been a 4 or 5 star review had things even attempted to be made fully right.
