Tomorrow will be the two week adoption anniversary...

Tomorrow will be the two week adoption anniversary of our sweet, chocolate lab. When we decided it was the right time for us to look into adopting a dog, we prepared ourselves mentally to be patient with the process and the search as we wanted it to be a good match for both us and the dog. I had been regularly looking on the website for potential dogs. I could tell that the volunteers and the organization take great care in providing as much information to make sure each adoption is the right fit (good with dogs, cats, children; age; activity level; habits, etc). I appreciated this extra effort as it helped us as well. I completed the online application, and soon after, our adoption counselor got in touch to make a home visit. We were fortunate enough to find our sweet boy right away who was a perfect fit for our family. We feel like we hit the doggy jackpot and couldn t be happier! Our vet couldn t believe how well-adjusted he was and how easily he had transitioned to live with us. I really believe that it has such a great deal to do with the love and care that he received by his foster parents before he came to us. They and our adoption counselor have kept in touch with us ensuring everything is going well and offering support or guidance if needed. We couldn t have dreamed of a better process or outcome and are so grateful for Labrador Retriever Rescue of FL.
