I went my entire middle school (6-8) and honestly, there were many ups, and downs. First off, the school's size is perfect if you're looking for your son or daughter not to be overlooked and cared for individually. There are many incredible teachers there, Mr. Hellmeister, Mrs. Underwood, Mrs. Chaney, Mrs. Berry just to name a few. However, on the downside, if you had a problem with dealing with someone in your class (and this is coming from last year, I don't know how it is this year), there would either be a too large or too small consequence. The demerit system was pretty broken, and some staff are not very friendly. But again, the lock-in and Teambuilding (an early retreat to Camp Woodlands) are incredible experiences that your kids are sure to remember. Talking sports, I was cut from the basketball team in 8th grade (and this isn't a rage note), however, the cuts happened AT the retreat where were supposed to be building teams. I believe it should have happened when we got back, because I felt really bad for the rest of the retreat. But the teams themselves are incredible. Our strong point seems to be in basketball, and I wish our team good luck this year. Overall, this was a very good school if you're looking for a focused environment that can be specific for your child.
