Hiring Chris Charles and Provident Law has been the most financially devastating decision we have ever made. We hired (and paid) Chris to represent us in a real estate non-disclosure dispute. Chris failed to file the complaint in the necessary time-frame resulting in the court dismissing our contract claims against the Seller including the avenue provided by the contract for the prevailing party to be awarded attorneys fees, expert witness fees, and costs.
Chris and Provident have done nothing to help rectify this loss. Rather, like another malpractice lawsuit Chris and Provident recently faced, it seems likely that Chris and Provident will force us to sue them to attempt to be put back in the position we would have been but for their mistakes, further damaging us by requiring us to spend more (non-recoverable) attorneys fees and time.
The loss of the contract avenue for an award of fees and costs is simplistic in the ways we have been damaged. This loss has been repeatedly used against us by opposing parties in delaying the case in hopes that we run out of money before trial and as justification for low settlement offers by the Defendants in the non-disclosure case.
It is disappointing to us that Chris passion for problem solving hasn t extended to rectifying the damages caused to us, his own (former) clients. Provident Law advertises that they bring peace to their clients through excellent legal representation. There has been no peace for us as we are left to try to pick up the pieces from their mistakes.
