I had this company over to do an Advanced Diagnostic Tune Up on my two AC units. This is an APS approved and rebated checkup. The Tech was on time and clean. However, the Tech pulled out a 10 uf run capacitor and showed me that it was measuring 9.45 uf and indicated that I needed to replace it. He found the same thing on my 2nd unit. Then he he quoted me $299 for one and a discounted price of $199 for the 2nd. Turns out, a 10 uf capacitor has a +/- tolerance of 6% so both were still within range and did not need replacing (time will tell). Also turns out that a capacitor is only about $5 to $30 each. Bottom-line, the Tech tried to sell me $500 worth of repairs that is very questionable as to actual need, on parts that don't cost more than $60 and would have taken 5 minutes to replace. The Tune Up itself was $358 so the diagnostic work was paid for. Shame on them for gouging the public and only time will tell if this if this goes beyond gouging.
