A Hallmark fixture of the western United States and an engineering Marvel for its time, the Golden Gate Bridge is a must-see if you're interested in history, engineering, and stunning Beauty. Pedestrians and bicyclists are welcomed and, as you can see from the picture, there's plenty of room for both. The traffic on the bridge is pretty loud so if that's a concern for you, some type of hearing protection is warranted. The height did not seem to bother any in our group although if a person is afraid of heights, a trip to the rail and look down would likely be pretty intimidating! If you like a quieter setting to enjoy the amazing view the are several overlooks from the nearby Mountain.
