We are forever indebted to the incredible interventions by the staff at New Method Wellness when our adult son was in severe crisis with depression and alcoholism. We spoke on the phone with many different treatment centers, but the ONLY intake counselor who ever asked us if our son was present and asked to speak directly with him was Brook with NMW. After that 45 minute phone call, our son was relieved and said NMW was the place for him. A few days later, he was checked in and accepting the help he needed to save his own life. It has been a transformational experience for him to be treated and mentored by people who have walked this walk before him. This does not mean it has been an easy path--recovery is challenging and difficult and an individual's commitment to getting well is is most important factor, but the clinical staff at NMW has been amazing, and in hindsight, it was of vital importance that they be able to relate to the same struggles as our son and serve as examples of finding lifelong success in recovery--the messenger is just as important as the message, and all down the line, everyone at NMW can speak with honest empathy about their own path to recovery. Equally important, the strong focus at NMW on healing as a family has restored a lot of trust and provided a solid foundation for moving forward. For the first time in years, our son can imagine a good future for himself and knows he was worth saving, and we are equally hopeful. We cannot thank NMW enough. They have been so kind and stabilizing toward us during the frightening time of the crisis, and a lifesaver to our son who feels well and is proudly, fiercely sober.
