No visit to Tagaytay would be complete without spending some time at Taal Vista Hotel, if only to take in the stunning views of Taal Volcano from the best vantage point in town.
Food was excellent (albeit pricey), with large portions good for sharing. Lunch buffet was a bit expensive, and there were not that many choices. However, restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient -- obviously well-trained. Facilities, both indoor and outdoor, not to mention the expansive gardens, were all immaculately maintained. Congrats!
Lastly, the cumbancheros that serenade diners during lunch or dinner were delightful -- able to regale young and old alike with their almost bottomless repertoire. They took on all requests -- no song was too obscure, too old or too juvenile. From the latest Top 40 hits (is that still a thing?) to classic Oldies But Goodies to any and all Disney princess staple. Amazing!
