My husband was transferred from a smaller Harris Hospital. He had a severe nosebleed which resulted in a drastic drop in his blood count. He has a history of nasopharyngeal cancer. In the ER some gauze was pack inti his nose, than admitted and received 2 units of blood. ENT doctor was consulted but never saw him. His nurse practitioner did but basically did nothing but tell him to go home and see his regular ENT doctor. After two days he was discharged, We went to his regular doctor, he removed the cause and was appalled at the poor effort. There was still some oozing, he sent us directly to a different hospital. He underwent emergency surgery at 4AM to repair the problem. He had a bleeding artery that was cauterized, He should never been discharged from Harris, They should have addressed the issue. I am very disappointed in the hospital and staff. my husband and I are both in our seventies, I feel we were treated as if his health issues were a both to them and not worthy of there attention. I will never depend on them again. A hospital is there to help people, they did not do so.
