I stayed here for a convention. The hotel is situated about a mile from the convention center, necessitating guests take a cab if they don't want a decently long walk. I stayed on Tuesday night, and while the area around the hotel was fairly dead (I get the sense that Dallas, or at least the neighborhood I was is is not a city with a lot of walkable nightlife) the hotel itself was bumping. The lobby, attached sports bar, and hotel bar, which is separate and much quieter than the sports bar, had plenty of people in them. The hotel bar supposedly closes at 10PM but the bartender kept going until nearly 11--I imagine it closes when business winds down. I didn't check out the pool. The breakfast buffet isn't complimentary, but I somehow managed to get a free voucher when I asked about it. The buffet itself is nothing spectacular, but it's a step above your standard complimentary breakfast. The in-room wifi isn't free--it's $13 for 24 hours I believe, which always infuriates me at a higher end hotel, but it seems like this is par for the course nowadays. You can get 30 min of free wifi in the hotel lobby though. The rooms are spacious, if a bit dated. At least two of the power outlets were loose enough that I couldn't reliably power devices plugged into them. My room featured I nice, large (50> inches) flatscreen TV, and a moveable desk with Herman Miller Aeron chair, which I thought was a nice touch. When I entered my room is was a bit hot and stuffy, but after I turned on the AC it cooled off a bit. The shower pressure was good, but my drain was partially clogged, and even after calling the front desk about it the issue wasn't fixed. Overall my stay was good, but not excellent. I would have given five stars had the drain not been an issue (or if it had been promptly fixed) and if the rooms feature more updated decor. Free wifi would have helped too.
