If you have booked a stay at now larimar, dont forget to pack your clorox wipes with bleach. My husband and i took our first vacation in 5 years and stayed here with 12 other couples. All of us have stayed at multiple other resorts because we like to change it up. This was a terrible experience for us all. Upon our 1130 am arrival, our room wasnt ready until 330pm. We payed for Preferred. Our room was disgusting. Mold and mildew shower, running toilet(literally had to take the back off and push the rubber part down every flush), and overall musty smelling room. We complained three different times to different people, nothing was ever resolved. Being 10 weeks pregnant, it flew all over me that no one would ever do anything. But then again 99 percent of the staff doesnt understand a freakin word of english. We went without wash clothes for 3 days. After we complained, we came up to our room, and found some thrown ON THE FLOOR. The beds, were two queen mattress pushed together, with 3 sheets tucked in. My only thoughts are WTF. We would have been fine with one king bed. Our view was roof tops with tarps pulled over them, on a busy road used by staff. Constant scooters and truck traffic all day long. One evening we went for dinner at the buffet. We were greeted with attitude. If i wanted some attitude, i could stay in America and get it for free. The food is bland and most of the time inedible. For 7 days i pretty much survived on build your pasta and hash browns. All the drinks never tasted the same, and the water always had things floating in it. The bluewater grill or whatever it was called smelt so bad one evening we all ended up sick. Not sure if it was sewage or not.They show they have bowling?! We had to pay 38 dollars for one round!! I was shocked that spending thousands of dollars for our stay, paying for the preferred, and any chance they got they tried to get more money from you. While sitting by the preferred pool we still had men coming up to us every hour trying to get us to go on excursions. And sitting on the "preferred beach" you better be prepared to never get a chance to relax, ever. Someone will be trying to sell you things non stop even when your eyes are closed. After our group went to management to do a massive complaint, they gave us a beach cabana for one day. Afterwards, tried to get us to sign a paper saying we have been compensated above and beyond, and that we were waiving our right to file complaints against the resort. Needless to say, that paper was not signed. I am advising apple vacations of our terrible experience in hopes to save people the dissapointed.
