I had very high expectations for this resort and maybe that is the reason for my dismal review.

As we pulled up to valet, there were about eight employees standing in the middle of the driveway socializing and didnt exactly move aside until another employee motioned them to the side. One of the gentlemen, Ryan, was very helpful and accompanied us to the check in counter.

Entered the lobby to check in and noticed it was renovated recently. It has a very clean, modern, and upscale feel; however, this is the only place within the resort where this is the case. The resort tower hallways are very musty. The elevator ride was reminiscent of an old, wooden roller coaster because it shook noticeably on the way down. The bathroom has a window installed in the wall that seperates the bathroom from the living area. The window did have a bermuda blind...but im still uncertain about the purpose behind the window. So dont expect much privacy. Room also has a very close up view of the parking garage next door. I have included photos of what the resort considers a "beach view".

Headed down to the bar for drinks. Bartender looked like she was at the end of her shift and unable to muster a smile. About 5 minutes later, four ladies-twenty-somethings- approached and the noise level went up immediately. They didnt order drinks but they did engage two male waiters for about 10 minutes and the vibe went from resort bar to college game day.

Over to the adult pool...or tub rather. Its tiny and there were about 80 chairs positioned around a pool that can hold about 30 adults. Pool temp was really warm. No water feature in the adult pool. The water seems stagnant. Not refreshing, and ocean is off limits because of the red tide.

Note: Red Tide is in full swing!!! Imagine our surprise when the receptionist gave us a lengthy explanation about how red tide can irritate your throat even if you arent on the beach. They were right...i cough a few times every ten minutes or so. ASK BEFORE YOU BOOK!!! They will reinforce that its not their fault...it isnt...but they wont tell you until AFTER they swipe your credit card.

Maybe i expect too much. So far, im not pleased with the experience when i consider the rate that i am paying...pictures attached...stay tuned.

Update: 5 minute shower and there is 6 inches of standing water...took about that long to drain. They have scented shower gel in the shower so if you are sensitive to fragrances, bring your own soap.
