I recently organised a 2 day away strategy day for our Marketing and Commercial teams. I can 100% guarantee we will not be returning, whether it is as a group or individually. At an original cost of 2.4k we were all very delighted to be attending Mottram Hall, especially s so much planning had been spent ensuring it was perfect for our group of 13 who were attending until we experienced the following:

1. On arrival no one was around to meet and greet me.
2. The meeting room was not fully prepared as was agreed and I had to personally tidy it myself. The glasses left out were sticky and had fingerprints on them all.
3. There was 3 jugs of juice which were on the table which had been left over night to be served to us
4. The lounge where tea and coffee is served was disgusting as the drinks machines hadn't been cleaned, the surface hadn't been cleaned and there was only 4 cups left and these were all dirty too.
5. There were no biscuits or pastries out as mentioned when arranging the away day.
6. When I finally found someone to help me I explained the situation and their rude response was 'We are having staffing issues so no one cleaned it last night'. No apology, just ignorance.
7. Breakfast was meant to be served at 8:30am but no one had bothered until we complained. We received this at 8:50 and even then the dietary requirements were not met as vegetarians and allergies were not catered for until highlighted.
8. After an employee who apologized and tried to sort things for us I politely asked that all the rooms would be ready and there wee no more issues but unsurprisingly one of the rooms were not ready at 3:40 in the afternoon.
9. After an awful sleep due to the rooms not having air con and being extremely hot (some because the radiators were on) the staff at the reception asked about all of our experience. After many of the guest explained their lack of sleep due to their room temperature and noises they dismissed the comments and rudely asked how the rest of their stay was.
10. Dinner for the second day was arranged for 12:00 and at 12:10 we were still waiting for food to be served. Eventually the lady who helped the previous day saw this and told the staff to get the food ready. At no surprise, the food was not as was arranged when booking the venue.

Although we received a discount from our bill we still feel we should not have paid what we did for the service that was provided. Nothing was as it was arranged, the staff were rude and the service levels were not that of a 4 star hotel. I can safely say we will not be returning to Mottram and I strongly advise you reconsider booking this venue.

I hope this review helps others before they have to go through with the stress I experienced during my time at Mottram Hall.
