Tuesday morning we were to fly out my mom is in a wheelchair and I sent her with the wheelchair attendants to go through security while I returned the rental car. my mom was in line with all other wheelchair patrons for almost 2 hours; another wheelchair patron had been there a total of three hours, we all missed our flight Due to the fact that there weren t enough people to actually handle the wheelchairs through security. I initially drop my mom off at curbside with an attendant and they were supposed to meet me at our flight gate. However, when I got to the gate she was not there I even checked the plane as other wheelchair patrons had loaded and she was not there as well. I started to panic as she had been dropped off along time ago and it should have been at the gate. She also had not called me so I did not know where she was. It was upsetting to find out when I did call her that she was still sitting at security, waiting to be screened. I saw many Tsi people meandering around talking in groups and not actually working with the patrons who are trying to get through the airport, when I passed thru. Had I known that my mom had been set to the side of the security line, nowhere near where the rest of the the passengers were passing through, I would ve been able to collect her and take her through myself. Due to the lackadaisical nature of the Attendants my mom and I missed our flight and had to be redirected. There were also two other patrons in wheelchairs that missed the flight as well. This is not acceptable you can t just place will chair patrons to the side they have to be attended to it s inappropriate to have due to the lackadaisical nature of the attendance my mom and I missed her flight and had to be redirected.
