Very disappointed in our stay at this Marriott. We requested a room with double beds & a crib. When we arrived, we were told there was only ONE room left in the entire hotel & it was a king room. The crib - pack & play - was NOT in the room yet & we had to have a rollaway bed brought in for our son. It was after midnight, so everyone was tired & frustrated that we couldn t just crash after a LONG drive. Our room was also located right beside the elevator, so that was fun! The staff was accommodating, despite their lack of preparation for our visit. They discounted our room & have us access to the concierge lounge, which provided our family with breakfast each day of our stay. We switched rooms the following day, but it was nothing to write home about either. The rooms are very dated. The sinks are some kind of old green marble. The floors were mismatched Granite squares (I guess some broke over time) & they had old, dingy bathtubs. We spent most of our time seeing the city, so it was all fine at the end of the day. The manager did her best to make it better. It s no fault of the staff that the hotel is run down & not what I expect from a Marriott in the heart of a major city. The rooms were almost $300 a night, with parking. For that rate, the hotel should have much nicer amenities, more attention to detail & better service - like having the crib in the room before we checked in. We stayed at 2 other hotels during this trip & both had a crib or pack & play in the room when we arrived & both other rooms had the double beds we needed. We are loyal Marriott members, but am considering a switch to SPG primarily after staying at Aloft during our trip.
