My husband and I had a room with a king-size bed reserved for our stay there. Upon checking in, we told the lady at the front desk that we were there for our anniversary, and she informed us that she had moved us to an ocean-view room with two queen beds in it, as opposed to our reserved king-size bed room that, supposedly, overlooks the roof of a garage. So, she made it sound like she was doing us a favor. Come to find out, ALL of the rooms in this hotel face the ocean, so she moved us to a wing that had families with children in the rooms around us. The walls there are VERY thin, so we heard screaming children during our entire stay. The following day, I took a shower and was about to blow-dry my hair. I was horrified when I saw the hair-dryer they had in the room! It was full of dust, and the handle was all sticky to the touch and covered in filth! My husband called the front desk and requested for another hair-dryer to be delivered to the room. About 15 minutes go by, there's still no new hair-dryer. By then, my hair partially dried on its own and required to be rewashed for me to be able to style it. My husband calls downstairs again to check on the status of the new hair-dryer and gets transferred to housekeeping, where they ask him why he needs it. At that point, I grabbed the phone and told them that the hair-dryer they left in the room for the guests to use is an embarrassment to the hotel and that they should be ashamed of their department. About five minutes later, they delivered another hair-dryer. Then, we went downstairs to enjoy their breakfast buffet. They offered us a table that was right by the stairs next to a prep area, while better tables were available on the outside patio. I asked if we could have one of those tables instead and pointed at the one I wanted. They tried to offer us a different table instead, but I asked for the one with a better view that was available anyway. They said, "sure." 30 minutes go by, no one has acknowledged our existence. By then, my husband was done with his meal, while mine got cold during our wait for water, let alone any other drinks. I got up and told the hostess that no waiter has approached us, and we've been there for 30 minutes. She said she'd send someone right over. 10 more minutes go by, no one has approached us. So, I get the attention of Mike, the waiter that was serving the two tables right next to us and effectively ignoring our existence. I asked if it was his area, and he said yes, but because we moved to another table, the former waiter assigned to us would have to release us as customers for him to serve us. I said that we never even saw the other waiter, that we've been sitting there for about 40 minutes without having placed a drink order, and that I wanted to see the manager. Another 10 minutes later, the manager approached us, apologizing about the miscommunication between the hostess and the wait staff and offered to take care of our meal and drinks. Needless to say, my appetite and my mood were spoiled by then. If only the quality of their food made things better, but they fell short even there while charging $45 per person. I'd rate the food at 4/10. The omelette station was useless, as the lady there kept overcooking it. They struggle to keep their food hot, as it was always borderline cold, and the choices were not impressive at all. Beware - if you try to eat their Eggs Benedict, you may break a tooth on the over-toasted muffin. Now, the housekeeping...One of our wash towels was covered in fish oil. How do you overlook the stench and the yellow stains that all over it? Once reported to management, they were going to "deep-clean" the bathroom. All they did was replace the towels and the toiletries, except for shampoo (really?). In the rooms, the paint is peeling, the plastic on the shower door is broken off, so you flood the floor every time you take a shower. The housekeeping overlooks dirt stains on the floor and shower walls and even misses a price tag stuck by previous guests onto the wall. Save your money! THIS HOTEL IS A DISGRACE!
