Good place for a 2+ hour visit, especially if the featured exhibit is of interest. Check before you go. Saw the Jane Goodall/chimpanzee research exhibit and film. Both very well done. Continuing exhibits of NGS photographic work and NGS history are interesting. Photo exhibits change periodically, also check online for topic. This visit was best for older kids or teens.
