With my first trip ever to Edmonton, and Canada for that matter, I wanted to be sure to pick an amazing Hotel. After researching for a while I chose the Fairmont Macdonald. This luxurious hotel overlooks the Saskatchewan River Valley, and is located within walking distance of several downtown attractions, restaurants, and shopping centers. This is considered to be a Heritage Hotel and it shows in the decor especially when entering the lobby. There are a number of modernized rooms available primarily on the upper levels. I had the opportunity to stay on the 7th floor in one of the modernized gold rooms. Gold level rooms have their own area for check in located on the 7th floor as well and provides access to the gold Lounge with various snacks, Foods, and drinks throughout the day. Staff both on the gold levels and throughout the hotel are extremely friendly and always available to address any issue or request you may have for your stay. Be sure to check out The Harvest Room for delicious food (dress code is business smart), and stop by for a quick coffee to-go at the 1915 Cafe right next to the Harvest Room entrance. All in all an absolutely fantastic experience, and definitely will return here once more for future visits.
